What is a non-surgical rhinoplasty?

This nose reshaping procedure can be an alternative to surgical rhinoplasty. While effective, the results fade after about six months as the body naturally reabsorbs the filler, after which a repeat procedure can maintain the results. Some patients choose to “test drive” changing nose shape before making the decision to undergo a surgical rhinoplasty. The procedure involves injecting dermal filler to create more balance in nose shape, camouflage a minor hump on the bridge, or correct asymmetry.

What nose issues can a non-surgical rhinoplasty treat?

  • Low nose bridge: A lower nose bridge can be increased in height with injections of dermal filler in many cases.
  • Asymmetry: An uneven nose shape may be corrected with a non-surgical nose job.
  • Hump on nose bridge: It may surprise you, but a minor hump on the nose bridge can be hidden by filling around the raised area to create a straighter line.
  • Concave nose bridge: If you have a dip in your nose bridge, it is often possible to build it up and create a more aesthetic line with injections.
  • Rebalance a crooked nose: It may be possible to correct the appearance of a crooked nose with filler.
  • Pinched nose tip: A nose tip that appears pinched can be smoothed and made more attractive with a non-surgical nose job.
  • Drooping nasal tip: Filler can achieve a lifting effect on a drooping nose tip.

Are you a candidate for a non-surgical rhinoplasty?

If your nose shape bothers you due to a bump on the bridge, low bridge, a droopy tip, or an uneven structure, you may be a good candidate for this non-invasive treatment.

The first step in the decision is to meet with one of our facial plastic surgeons. Many minor nose shape issues can be successfully treated when under our care.

What is the procedure like to experience?

A nose enhancement with filler requires only about one hour to complete, from start to finish. The nose will be numbed first to make the injections more comfortable.

You will be resting comfortably during the procedure and are free to return to your usual schedule once it is complete.

What is the recovery time?

No recovery time is associated with a liquid rhinoplasty. Some patients could experience minor bruising at the injection sites. These side effects typically fade rapidly. The application of an ice pack can help reduce bruising but should be applied as directed by your surgeon. Apply arnica cream to help decrease any bruising or swelling. Any swelling typically lasts from one to three days, and bruising may last about one week. To allow the filler to settle correctly, sleep on your back.
